The Buffalo Skyline – Same info as a couple days ago from a different view: The Robert H. Jackson United States Courthouse in Buffalo, New York. The glass entry pavilion not visible in this photo has all 4,536 words of the United States Constitution etched into the glass. The Statler Hotel left of the glass building was designed by August Esenwein and James A. Johnson (architect) and built in 1923 it was the third Statler in Buffalo, the first two were only temporary for the Pan American expo, it offered 300 rooms and bathrooms. Statler was the first major hotel chain to have a bathroom in every room. “A Room and a Bath for a Dollar and a Half.”

20130816-065937.jpgThe Liberty Building, far left, built in 1925, is a Neoclassical 23 story office tower. Built for Liberty Bank to serve as their headquarters, the Statue of Liberty’s that adorn the roof were sculpted by Leo Lentelli in 1925; one facing west, and the other facing east, representing Buffalo’s strategic location on the Great Lakes. They stand 36 feet tall and are illuminated at night. On the far right is Buffalo City Hall the seat for municipal government in the City of Buffalo, New York. The 32 story Art Deco building was completed in 1931 by Dietel, Wade & Jones. At 398 feet height from the street to the tip of the tower, it is one of the largest and tallest municipal buildings in the United States of America. Far in the background covered with scaffolding is the Erie Count Courthouse where William McKinley’s assassin was tried. And beyond all that is Lake Erie! Buffalo has amazing architecture. Check it out next you visit Buffalo
I wonder what are those two little people(far right lower corner) standing in the middle of the street discussing?
